Don’t hate me just because I microwaved my Peeps

Perhaps the most amusing thing happening in the Triangle this weekend is PeepFest 2008 at Market Street Books in Chapel Hill. The daylong event celebrates the marshmellow chicks and bunnies with activities such as Peeps jousting and a Peeps fashion show. This year’s theme is “Imagine World Peeps.” For the full list of activities click here. Market Street Books is located in Arts & Letters Community Center, 610 Market St.
In honor of this Peepabration, I made a quick video featuring the sugary, gooey animals. If you want to follow along, log onto How to Microwave a Peep while you watch this.
You do know the eternal damnation you’ve condemned yourself to, right? You murdered innocent peeps and we have the video evidence to prove it.
Okay….you are just like Martha Stewart, except much better and far less scary. You’ll have your own show before long, specializing in microwave confections. Can you say celebrity chef?
Is it bad I watched the whole thing and all I gathered was “Her kitchen is fabulous! I need to transform my kitchen to awesomeness. Well I need to find a new apartment. I want a bigger place.
Peeps are nothing but concentrated evil in marshmallow bunny form, and deserve to be destroyed.
Thanks so much. I painted the walls lime green, then coated the cabinets with chalkboard paint so I could write all over them with colorful chalk. It’s been a lot of fun. I don’t expect to get my deposit back when I move out, but at least my apartment has some Ginny character.
I feel like you’re being a tiny bit sarcastic, and that’s cool. Ginny as a cooking show chef would be a scary thing. Though I do enjoy cooking.
When I was in elementary school, a friend and I microwaved a frozen Capri Sun because we wanted it to thaw faster. It sparked and turned the entire kitchen a wonderful shade of blue until we recovered from shock long enough to stop the microwave.
Along the same lines, there was a fad in my middle school of microwaving grab-bags of chips and turning them into wrinkly little shrinky dink-type things.
Hey looky! http://www.wikihow.com/Shrink-a-Bag-of-Chips
Wow, I live one block from there and had no idea this was happening.
First chance I have had to revisit your blog. No sarcasm intended! The video was fun to watch, and a Ginny from the Blog Cooking Show would be a hit! I like microwaving Reese’s Cup Easter Eggs….just for a few seconds until they runneth over with chocolatey, peanut buttery yumminess.
