I appeared on MSNBC with Gov. Mike Easley today
29 Apr
So I’m sitting at my desk in the NBC17 newsroom, when body guards usher in Gov. Mike Easley. The state’s top elected official was appearing on MSNBC to speak about his choice to endorse Sen. Hillary Clinton for president.

Anyway, Easley was nice enough. He thanked our staff for getting him situated in front of the camera. His body guards stood just to the right of him and looked out the window, whispered among themselves and occasionally glanced at the TV hanging above my desk to see how the interview was going.
Easley’s endorsement comes on the heels of Sen. Barack Obama’s well attended rally at the Dean Smith Center in Chapel Hill (reportedly, about 18,000 people showed up). Do you think Gov. Easley’s endorsement will help Clinton’s chances in North Carolina (Raleigh-based Public Policy Polling showed Clinton trailing Obama in North Carolina by 12 points as of Monday)?

Very nice. Your head looks very official. I think that after Pennsylvania all PPP polls have to be taken with a grain of salt, they were off by 13 points. BUT, I still think Obama will win. THEN AGAIN, I have heard 3 older NCians say they would not vote for Obama because of the Wright flap.
There’s no way I’d be able to just sit there without doing something I’d have to go into Chevy Chase mode.
Heaheh that is AWESOME Ginny… though I’m with Shawn… I’d have really loved seeing you go into “Chevy Chase mode”… and thus get tackled by the bodyguards, perhaps… and end up on MSNBC yourself as an actual story! heahe
I would have loved to see you break it down.

Ack! I meant the second guy in the video, about 1:30 in.
Easley was expected to endorse Clinton. She won’t win here. Easley’s sway with voters is not great enough to make much difference.
I would have noticed more if you had been wearing an OBAMA T-shirt in the background…….now that would be sweet!
So what’s it like to have famous hair. Do people giving the left side of your head a sideways looks whisper to their friends “where do I know that sweet looking reverse-bob from?”
Waiting for the Andy Griffith endorsement!
Yeah, I thought about how easy it would be to do something whacky in the background to make people laugh. I can’t dance though, so that wasn’t an option. I texted my mom though, and she was watching it in Illinois. Afterward she texted back and said “you looked very cute.” Awww. Thanks, mom!
I know right? I mean, I’ve already declared my love for Andy Griffith. So I’m totally going to vote for whichever presidential candidate he says I should vote for. His word is golden. ;o)
Are you trying to compliment my hair? I think you’re complimenting my hair. Aww, how sweet. I’ll have to tell my stylist my hair is famous and see if she gives me a discount. Maybe I’ll print out this post to prove it. Thanks, Nick!
I’m surprised nobody asked what you were doing during the interview. Were you following people on twitter, writing a blog entry or browsing for new shoes on Zappos?
Did he call you a pansy, too?
I just posted a grassroots Obama video today, not as a response to Easley’s endorsement, but the timing worked that way. It’s a parents’ take on supporting Obama. Check it out at http://dirtandnoise.com/
Yo, Barry, I think he just called me a pansy.
