A glimpse at UNC’s new ballpark

30 Jul

I arrived early for a meeting at UNC Tuesday morning, so I decided to walk over to the new Boshamer Stadium, which is currently under construction.

The Bosh is supposed to be open for the 2009 season. Here’s a peak at how things are going.

I’m not big into college baseball, but I thought some of you might appreciate a look at how construction’s going.

Yeah the new stadium is gonna be niiiice. Should definitely attract some more attention to UNC baseball (which is already doin a pretty good job of that lately with its winning ways), and should bring some of the NCAA Regionals to Chapel Hill.

Yes, Carolina baseball is something to watch! I’m excited they’re getting a stadium to match their level of play.

I can’t wait to watch games at the new park next year (even living in Durham, I’m still much more of a UNC fan). Hopefully it will fit the bill of new parks that are designed to be even more fan-friendly. Even moreso than the nostalgic-era ballparks of recent times. The new Tampa Bay Rays stadium is a good Major League example of this.
